Skelmersdale Sports Centre celebrated ten years in business with special guests Alan Kennedy and Billy Butler back in 1981.
More than 2,000 people visited the centre and leading personalities from the world of athletics, body building, football and karate were there for the occasion.
DJ Billy Butler and Liverpool FC full back Alan Kennedy were joined by the Radio City team to take part in a celebrity soccer match.
Alan, born in Sunderland, now lives in Aughton and made his football debut for Newcastle United aged 18.
After Liverpool won their second European Cup in 1978, manager Bob Paisley bought Kennedy for £330,000.
In his his Reds debut Alan nearly scored an own goal and played very poorly.
Apparently at half-time manager Bob Paisley told him: “They shot the wrong bloody Kennedy!”
