ADVERTISER readers were really seeing triple back in 1985.
Hitting the headlines were the Porter triplets, from Burscough, pictured at five-weeks-old.
Matthew, Natalie and Laura featured on the front page of the newspaper and were born five weeks early at Ormskirk Hospital and spent their first few days in incubators before being transferred to the special care unit.
When they were allowed home and proud parents Anne and Tom and older siblings Rachel and Damian celebrated their christening.
Anne told the Advertiser: “I wasn’t expecting it. When I found out I was going to have triplets I was stunned for a few minutes, but then quite pleased. Now I am thrilled to bits.It was so marvellous that they were all born safely.”

We have another three of a kind next - the Hart brothers from Ormskirk. They were also featured on the front page after they all won places at Oxford University.
Christopher, Stephen and Kevin, all aged 18, joined older brother Michael at Oxford continuing a remarkable family tradition.
The three gained their O levels at St Bede’s High School and went on to get the four A levels they needed at De Lasalle College in Liverpool.
Dad Michael said at the time: “Younger brothers tend to look at their older brothers and say ‘we will have a go as well’."
