WE begin with a “Voice from a Crowd”, a band from Aughton who were making themselves heard in 1983.

Our picture shows band members Richard Hampson, Neal Aitken and Dave Anderson, all aged 18.

With Neal on drums and Richard, better known as Chod, and Dave on lead and bass guitars, they were playing venues in and around Ormskirk.

Dave told the Advertiser at the time: “It is a bit nerve-wracking just before going on stage, but once we settle down and people start dancing it’s really good.”
