ORMSKIRK’S football legend Tony Morley was back in Ormskirk in July, 1982.
This time the Aston Villa hero returned to the street where he first kicked a ball to young football hopefuls without a place to play.
Football games were banned on Owen avenue and the Farrington play area, and Tony was doing his bit to get the kids practising their skills again.

IT’S a Knockout host Stuart Hall attracted lots of attention when he visited Ormskirk in 1982.
Stuart came to open the Moorgate Indoor Market, performing the official ribbon cutting ceremony in front of a bumper crowd.

ORMSKIRK born Aston Villa and England international Tony Morley is pictured receiving BRMB Radio Listeners' Midland Sports Personality of the Year in April 1982.
A skilful winger, Morley enjoyed the best days of his career at Villa Park. He was seen as a wayward genius but was moulded by manager Ron Saunders into one of the most dangerous players around.
