This week's Memories takes a look at two budding soccer stars who played for the Grimshaw team in Skelmersdale back in 1988.
Stephen Reilly and Lee Barrett earned their first step on the way to making a career in professional football.
Stephen was granted a youth team place with Everton and Lee, from Burscough, was selected for a place with Stockport County.

EVERTON footballer Peter Reid dropped into Ormskirk Book Shop on Burscough Street in 1987.
The blues star, who was born in Huyton and won 13 caps for England, was signing copies of his book, ‘Everton Winter, Mexican Summer’.
At his peak Reid was the finest midfielder in Europe and was voted PFA Footballer of the Year in 1985.

WE kick off this week with football star Bobby Mimms who stopped by the Windmill Hotel in Parbold in 1987.
Bobby was presenting a cheque from the Veterans Cricket Team who raised £215 for the Leukaemia Research Fund.
Bobby began his footballing career as an apprentice at Halifax Town, however he found it difficult breaking into the first team and joined Rotherham United in November 1981 for a fee of £15,000.

EX-Liverpool and Everton player David Johnson makes an appearance in 1986.
David showed up to Maghull's Festival of Sport and made the day of many youngsters who got to see the footballer up close and personal.
He handed out medals and trophies and is shown presenting Robert Donnelly with his medal after winning the under-13s 100m race.

FORMER Everton player Colin Harvey made a special guest appearance to help Ormskirk Scouts raise funds for new camping equipment in 1986.
The former midfield star of the 1960s turned up at the 9th Ormskirk Scouts HQ to draw the winning raffle ticket for an autographed football donated by the Goodison club.
